Questions & Answers
Where are your bee nucs based?
Our nucs are raised in Kent, between Canterbury and Herne Bay. If you're nearby you can collect; if not, we deliver across mainland UK.
Can I get a bee nuc if I don't live near you?
Yes. We send nucs by Royal Mail Special Delivery for £9.50, so you don't need a local supplier to get a strong colony.
What sizes of nuc can I buy?
We sell a 6 frame National nuc and a 5 frame Langstroth nuc. Choose the one that matches the hive you already have.
When will a nuc reach me?
Over-wintered 6 frame National nucs are delivered in April and summer nucs in mid-June. Over-wintered 5 frame Langstroth nucs are delivered in late March.
How much does a nuc cost?
You reserve a nuc with a £60 deposit. The full price for an over-wintered nuc is £290 plus £9.50 delivery, and we email you for the balance a week before despatch.
Why buy a nuc instead of catching a local swarm?
A nuc comes with a known, mated F1 Buckfast queen and drawn frames of brood, so you know the temperament and the colony is already established when it arrives.
