Questions & Answers
Do I need a local supplier to buy a queen bee?
No. We post queens across the UK by Royal Mail Special Delivery, arriving next day before 1pm, so a supplier near you isn't necessary.
Can I collect a queen bee in person?
If you're close to Canterbury in Kent, you can choose the collection option at checkout and pick your queen up from us.
How long can a queen survive in the post?
Each queen travels in a cage with attendant worker bees that feed and warm her, and next-day Special Delivery keeps her time in transit short. Every queen is guaranteed to arrive alive.
What should I do as soon as my queen arrives?
Keep her somewhere cool and shaded, away from direct sun, and introduce her to your colony as soon as you can. Follow the queen introduction guide included with your order.
How much is a queen bee and delivery?
Queens are £32 each, and delivery is £9.50 per order however many you buy.
Which queen bee suits me best?
Buckfast queens are calm and productive, Carniolan and Carpathian queens cope well with cold weather, and Italian queens build large colonies for the main nectar flow.
