Questions & Answers
What does a queen honey bee do?
The queen is the only egg-laying female in the colony. A good queen sets the colony's size, temperament and honey production.
How do I know my colony needs a new queen?
Common signs are no eggs or young larvae, a patchy brood pattern, a sudden rise in aggression, or a colony that won't build up. Replacing the queen usually fixes these.
Are your queen honey bees mated?
Yes. All the queens we sell are mated and ready to start laying once accepted by the colony.
Which queen honey bees do you sell?
We sell F1 Buckfast, Carniolan (Carnica), Carpathian and Italian (Ligustica) queens.
What price is a queen honey bee?
Each queen is £32. Delivery is £9.50 per order by Royal Mail Special Delivery, however many you buy.
Is my queen honey bee guaranteed?
Yes. Every queen we send is guaranteed to arrive alive.
