What comes in a bee nuc?
Each nuc has a laying F1 Buckfast queen, worker bees and frames of brood. That's a small, complete colony ready to move into your hive.
How do I reserve a bee nuc?
Pay a £60 deposit at checkout. We email you to request the balance one week before despatch.
What is the full price of a nuc?
The full price for an over-wintered nuc is £290, plus £9.50 Royal Mail Special Delivery.
What is an over-wintered nuc?
It's a colony that has already come through a winter with us, which shows it survives well. Over-wintered National nucs are delivered in April and Langstroth nucs in late March.
What should I have ready before my nuc arrives?
Have your hive assembled and in position, with a full set of frames to fill it. Have your protective kit and a hive tool to hand so you can transfer the bees soon after they arrive.
Can I keep the box my nuc arrives in?
Yes. The travel box is disposable, but many beekeepers keep it as a spare or a swarm box.
